Since our announcement on April 8th, 2024, WF Steel & Crane has integrated the CRS Crane Systems and Solutions locations, employees, and services under the WF Group of Companies. Integrating our systems has allowed us to reach more customers throughout Canada. We guarantee that loyal CRS service customers will continue to get high-quality service under our name.
The range of services previously offered now includes customer access to the WF Group of Companies. CRS Crane Systems and Solutions customers gain access to our in-house engineering team, exclusive access to GH brand components, and expanded nationwide servicing and structural steel components.
We are excited to see existing WF customers nationwide who have benefited from the additional service locations, specifically the WF Crane & Service locations in Langley, BC, and Mississauga, Ontario. We are better able to serve customers in those areas.
WF has been focused on the smooth transition for existing CRS customers and transitioned all projects to successfully close out and issue new orders through the WF Group to ensure the projects are completed on schedule and to our quality standards.
Last, we would like to thank every team member for their efforts in this transition and their direct contributions to this successful integration.
New Location Announcement
The WF Group is pleased to announce that, as of April 1st, 2025, it has acquired an additional property in Nisku.
The new property is 7.5 acres, located at 1609-8th Street. The building is 31,000 sq ft of shop space and another 6,000 sq ft of office space. With this addition, we have increased the number of bays available, with 2-20-ton cranes in each bay. These updates create a smoother production flow due to less handling and increased labour power. These updates allow us to double the crane production under the WF brand.
We acquired a new space after the CRS acquisition in 2024. Many of the CRS customers put their trust in WF as their trusted crane and service supplier, which created an order backlog. We take pride in knowing that our service standards remain industry-leading, but in some cases, extended deliveries did not meet the customer’s project requirements. Therefore, we found it necessary to expand our facilities to better suit our customers’ project needs.
All crane design, sales, management, assembly, installation, and service personnel have been relocated to this location and are excited about the opportunity this expansion brings.
WF Steel & Crane is Excited to Announce Completion of Expansion at Flagship Location
Edmonton, Alberta WF Steel & Crane Ltd. is very excited to announce that we have completed our expansion at our flagship location at 2107-6 Street Nisku. The expansion added 25% more production space to a total of 48,000 square feet of indoor steel processing and fabrication space. In addition, we installed a 100 x 330’ outdoor 20 ton crane way to unload raw materials and load conveyors in order to feed production. In the processing area, in addition to our Peddinghaus CNC Plasma cutting table and Angle Master we added a new 2021 Peddinghaus BDL 1250/9D Drill line fit with 1250-510 band saw that will double our current steel processing capability. This facility has heavy overhead crane capacity with 29’ under the hook so ideal for shop assembly of steel modules.
110,000 Square Feet of Manufacturing Space
The expansion completed at our 2107-6 street facility combined with our 602-22 ave facility gives us over 110, 000 square feet of manufacturing space and has allowed us to end our lease at our Shop 2 410-24 ave facility without losing production capability and will therefore make WF Steel & Crane more efficient and add more value to our customers.
The Shop 2 move out will be completed by the end of the year and a result there is some equipment that will no longer be needed, such as overhead cranes and steel processing equipment and sold at our November 2nd auction.

One last announcement. We surveyed our employees and they voted that we change the names of our facilities.

WF Steel & Crane Has Officially Landed in Southern Alberta
Calgary, Alberta (July 1, 2020) WF Steel & Crane, has officially landed in southern Alberta. After 30 years of servicing out of Edmonton, the opportunity and need to open a secondary location in Calgary has arrived. WF Steel & Crane services and repairs cranes from a variety of manufacturers. They provide inspections, repairs, and general servicing much like the needs of a regular car. They provide maintenance programs, testing, training, and other safety solutions as required. The new Calgary branch will allow WF Steel & Crane to better service its customers in the area by providing improved emergency response times and lower cost service.
WF Steel & Crane has been operating since 1987. They are a privately owned Canadian Company and support the local economy by employing over 200 full-time Albertans and by building long-term business relationships with key local suppliers. WF Steel & Crane specializes in manufacturing of Steel Structures ($52m Sales in 2019) and Electric Cranes ($15m Sales in 2019) for the Western Canadian Industrial and Commercial Markets.
