GATX Project, Red Deer

THE PROJECT REQUIREMENTS WAS TO DESIGN, SUPPLY, AND INSTALL

• WF was hired as a General Contractor to look after the entire scope which included design work for the foundations of the crane columns. WF designed the pile caps in-house after getting the Geo-Technical report. WF partnered with Task Concrete and foundations were completed in July 2023. 
• 50 Ton free standing structure including columns and runways were all designed, fabricated and installed by WF. This includes custom box plate runways to accommodate large spans between the column spacings. 
• (2) 25 ton Top Running Double Girder Outdoor Rated Cranes spanning 109ft. Custom box girders fabricated by WF.  The cranes were fitted with radio remote control systems complete with tandem crane control.  Meaning that both hooks can be controlled simultaneously or individually by a single operator, from a single transmitter. GATX required these cranes for servicing the railcar beneath. 
• WF subcontracted Flint Energy to look after the electrical to provide power to the cranes.

Project was completed and commissioned in September 2023.
